Dissection of an Artwork - SUBMISSIONS

Hey guys!  If you're looking for the Educreations instruction and link, that's below in the previous post.  This post has the link for submitting your final.  Also, let's take a second to talk about how I will be grading these presentations.

You will receive up to four (4) points for each of your responses.  That means what you say regarding each Element and Principle will be a separate four-point grade.  The breakdown for scoring is as follows:

  • 4 - Exceptional Comment - Well thought out and confident.  The comment is spoken or written well (good delivery) and ties in clearly with the Element or Principle identified.
  • 3 - Commendable Comment - The comment ties in clearly with the Element or Principle identified, but there are clarity issues (stumbles in delivery if spoken or poorly worded if written)
  • 2 - Proficient Comment - The comment makes sense regarding the Element or Principle identified, but could be elaborated on or presented more clearly.
  • 1 - Insufficient Comment - The student fails to comment on the Element or Principle; does not clearly tie the comment to the identified Element or Principle; or does not clearly present their reasoning.
This adds up to a total of 56-points for the project, which is about the same as an in-class project.  So do this well.  The link for submitting your finals is below...

Use (First and last name - Dissection Final) as the topic.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

Dissection Project - Working on your Final

*EDIT #2*  Hey! I put together a quick and dirty example of what this could look like as a Powerpoint, in case you decide not to use Educreations.  It's very bare bones, but a slide that looks like the Example would receive a 4/4 due to the clarity of the comments and the arrows assisting.  If you go with Powerpoint, the presentation should be 15 slides - the first will be the image with its TITLE, ARTIST, DATE, and MEDIA.  You will then put together one slide for EACH of the Elements and Principles.  Good Luck!

Hey guys! Here is a helpful link for a program that you can use when working on your final for the Dissection of an Artwork project.

Educreations:

http://www.educreations.com/

Educreations is a great web-based interactive whiteboard program.  It's the same one that I used in my tutorial video, it's super easy to learn and use, and it's FREE.  All you have to do is setup a student account on the website, and you're good to go.  The interface is pretty straightforward, and I would recommend "just playing" with it for a little bit in order to learn it.  Also, if you have an iPad or tablet available, you can download their app.  And drawing with your finger is super easy to do, as opposed to working with the mouse.  A really nice aspect of this program is that you can save your presentation as "Public" and then just paste the link in the Submission form for your final.  I can access it and grade it, and you don't even need to hand me a thumb drive or send an email.

*EDIT*

When you sign up for Educreations, say that you do have a course code, and enter E1E898.  This will automatically enroll you in the Advanced Art course, just in case we want to use this in the future.  Then, just click your name in the top right corner, and then click create lesson to get going.  Good luck!

Good Luck!  And don't forget to ask questions if you're having trouble with the project.

Also, they are DUE ON FRIDAY!

Dissection of an Image Pretest

*EDIT*:  Hey again! Hope you guys enjoy your day off.  If anyone stops by here today, because you didn't get around to it yesterday...and I know you're out there...go ahead and get started on the project after you finish the pre-test.  Pick an image, and start to figure out how you are going to present it to me for the final, then bring what you have to class on Wednesday.  We'll do some troubleshooting in class so that you will be good to go for Friday.

Hey guys! Here are the links for the pretest, as well as the project breakdown, for after you have finished the pretest.
